Jordan Macha is the Executive Director and Waterkeeper. A Houston native, Jordan advocates for healthy waters in the Galveston Bay watershed, working on wetland protection, urban water management, and supporting community efforts to improve water quality. Prior to joining Bayou City Waterkeeper, Jordan worked for the Gulf Restoration Network and the Sierra Club advancing restoration priorities for the Gulf region. She received her undergraduate degree in Russian and Political Science from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and a Master of Public Administration, with an emphasis on Urban Water Management and Policy, from Texas State University.
Bruce Bodson is the Lead Scientist for Bayou City Waterkeeper. With nearly 40 years of environmental experience as a scientist, consultant, attorney and academic, Bruce has been involved in the protection of Houston area waters and riparian areas for over 20 years. He received his Bachelor degree from the University of Arizona at Tucson in Fisheries Biology, a Master of Environmental Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, and gained his JD at South Texas College of Law. Additionally, he conducted post-doc studies in environmental and energy law at University of Houston Law Center. You can usually find Bruce on the watershed: kayaking, kayak racing, birding and helping other people get out and gain an appreciation of this amazing resource.
